    Wisdom Tooth Extraction

Wisdom teeth are the third molars (large back teeth). Because they are hard to keep clean, extraction is needed when they cause decay, gum pain or harm to neighboring teeth, or form a cyst in the mouth.

What to know about wisdom tooth extraction

Removing a lower wisdom tooth carries a risk of injury to the nerve of the lower jaw, and an upper wisdom tooth a risk of sinus perforation, so

a 3D CT scan should be used for an accurate diagnosis before extraction.

A periodontist experienced in oral surgery can remove it skillfully while keeping discomfort to a minimum.

Extraction and CT scans are billed at rates covered by Korean National Health Insurance (for eligible insured patients).

After surgery, please carefully follow the aftercare instructions given by the clinic.

Pain after wisdom tooth extraction varies with age, location and how impacted the tooth is,

and not every wisdom tooth extraction is painful.

Through an accurate diagnosis and consultation, you can check your own condition.
